Review – Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Concentrated Recovery PowerFoil Mask
I started seeing the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Concentrated Recovery PowerFoil Mask on Instagram about one year ago. Back then all the beauty bloggers were all over it and posting pictures of themselves wearing the mask on IG. That’s because this mask actually comes with a silver metallic foil over it which makes you look like Iron Man while wearing it. I was so tempted to buy it after seeing all the glowing reviews but seeing the price of the masks daunted me. I mean it costs S$216 for only 8 pieces of masks! That works out to S$27 for a single piece of sheet mask! However I just couldn’t resist anymore when the Sephora 20% off sale came around and I cave in to temptation. I finally bought those darn masks because I had to see for myself just how fantastic or life-changing it is. Now before we go any further, let’s take a look at its ingredients.

How does the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Concentrated Recover PowerFoil Mask fare?
I have just one word for it: Unimpressed. -_-” Ok, I should probably give more details about the reason why.
Estee Lauder claims that this treatment mask delivers a surge of liquid revitalisation, immersing skin in a double dose of Advanced Night Repair Serum’s powerful moisture magnet (which really means that it contains twice the amount of hyaluronic acid as in the ANR serum). It also includes their proven ChronoluxCB™ technologies which allows you to experience an ultimate infusion of youthful moisture. Instantly, skin looks fresher and renewed. Their worldwide first PowerFoil high-performance foil-backed sheet mask creates a protective barrier, allowing their potent technologies to penetrate fast and deep within skin’s surface and helping to lock in moisture.
Alright, so what exactly does all this wall of text mean and what kind of results should you be expecting from this mask? Looking at it, I should probably be getting really hydrated skin that also looks firmer (due to the ANR anti-ageing benefits), brighter and more even skin tone. However, after I took off this mask and stared into the mirror hoping to see super hydrated skin, I was sorely disappointed! My skin just looks like its normal self with the ANR serum smeared all over it! I told myself that maybe it needs some time to work. So I patted the residual serum in and went to sleep with just my normal night cream over it so that I could judge the results of the mask fairly. In the morning, I could just barely see slightly firmer skin that doesn’t have water retention or puffiness. No brightness, no glowy hydrated skin, nada! Now I’m not expecting this mask to solve all my skin issues. I’m just expecting the results of this mask to be better than those sheet masks from My Beauty Diary (我的美丽日记). However, sad to say that I honestly don’t see results that are any better than those cheap sheet masks. I even got my mum to test out the mask and she didn’t get much results from it too. Sad! =(
Where can you find it?
This mask can be found at all Estee Lauder counters or Sephora in Singapore. It retails at S$216 for a box of 8 or S$120 for a box of 4.
