Taiyou no Aloe Hyaluronic Acid was a surprise find for me. I got to know about its existence while I was browsing the Taiwanese online beauty store BGO and saw a big advertisement featuring this product. Curiosity got the best of me and I searched online for reviews regarding this product. It turns out that this tiny and unassuming product (it’s only 10ml!) has numerous fans and won the first place at Japan’s @cosme awards. Before we begin, let’s check out its ingredients!
Water (98.5%), Sodium Hyaluronate (1.0%), Phenoxy Ethanol (0.4%), Methylparaben (0.1%)
How does the Taiyou no Aloe Hyaluronic Acid fare?
Taiyou no Aloe Hyaluronic Acid is a high purity hyaluronic acid moisturising solution that’s made in Japan. You’ll need to note that it is not a serum per se. It’s actually one of the base ingredients containing hylauronic acid that can be mixed with lotion, emulsions or cream to enhance the moisturising effects of the product itself. You can even mix it with your cleansing foam, hand cream, lip balm, shampoos or in your bath and shower to provide intense moisture to your whole body. I’ve been testing out this product by mixing it into my hydrating serums and OMG! It’s truly amazing! I thought that my hydrating serums were working well but this tiny bottle really takes it to the next level. And I only used one drop! I mix one drop of this product with a pipette full of hydrating serum in my palms before I apply it to my face. The results were instantaneous. The mixture literally sinks into my face within seconds and makes it look firmer and brighter. I also felt that with increased moisture in my skin, all other products that I layer over it works better. I mentioned before that I don’t use any foundation for my base makeup. I only used Thanaka powder to loosely dust it over my face after I applied my sunscreen. The thing is that sometimes when my skin is feeling a little dry or dehydrated, the powder actually mattifies my skin further and it would feel slightly tight around noon time when I’m in an air-conditioned office. However, ever since I added this tiny product into my skincare routine, the feeling of tightness had gone away. Now I truly understand why beauty experts said that once you’ve dealt with your dehydration issue, all other issues would become diminished.
