Skylake Shampoo.jpg

I first learnt of Skylake while I was reading Fanserviced-b’s blog in which she extols the goodness of their shampoo. I was intrigued, especially since she said that this shampoo helped with oily scalps and hair loss. When I saw that Skylake was available in Singapore, I immediately bought it to try. Now that I’ve been using this product for around 3 months, I think that I could give my 2-cents worth on it.

How does the Skylake Oriental Herb Cool Shampoo fare?

The Skylake Oriental Herb Cool Shampoo is in the form of a light honey-coloured liquid. As stated in its name, it is a shampoo formulated with herbal extracts known for its anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It also claims to effectively stimulates hair growth, inhibits dandruff formation and relieves you from itchiness, thereby offering your scalp with a clean and fresh sensation.

My scalp is extremely oily but my hair ends are usually dry due to the numerous chemical process that I subjected my poor hair and scalp to. Although my hair has always been fine and smooth (thus not having much volume), I experienced much more hair fall than usual after the birth of my daughter. Additionally, I started having problems with oily scalp even though I didn’t have it before I gave birth. Therefore, I’m always on the lookout for products which would help to control my oily scalp without drying out my hair, as well as giving it some much-needed volume. When I first used this product, I fell in love with its minty herbal smell. It rinses off cleanly without leaving any residue on my hair or scalp. Although I do not find that it helps to lessen my hair fall, I’m thankful that it doesn’t exacerbate it. However, it does seem to control the oiliness on my scalp without leaving the ends of my hair dry. I think that this shampoo is pretty decent performing for its price but I’m still on the hunt for the perfect product to deal with my hair and scalp issues.

*Note that although this is a foaming shampoo, it’s formulated without any SLS/ ALS.*

Where can you find it?

I bought this product from Hebeloft online. It retails at S$32.00 (500ml sized).
