I had been lemming over the Dr Dennis Gross Hyaluronic Moisture Cushion ever since I saw this product being featured on Caroline Hiron’s blog (the top UK skincare expert blogger who’s also a globally qualified advanced aesthetician). Back in July 2017 when Net-A-Porter was having their sale on skincare products, my heart leapt with joy! It was on sale for US$34.71 when it usually retails at US$58. I immediately grabbed the chance to make the purchase because how could I miss this great deal?!
Anyway, I’ve been using this product for quite some time (around 3 months in fact!) and think that I’m ready to provide my thoughts on it.

How does the Dr Dennis Gross Hyaluronic Moisture Cushion fare?
Dr Dennis Gross Hyaluronic Moisture Cushion is an oil-free gel moisturiser that touts to deliver intensive moisturisation without suffocating oily skin or exacerbating congestion. The moisture is apparently time-released so that it is long-lasting and keeps the skin supple, soft and dewy. In short, this is a hydrating oil-free gel moisturiser.
This product is the one that I started using once I realised that my Dr Jart Ceramidin Cream wasn’t quite cutting it for me in my daytime skincare routine. As I’d mentioned previously, although I love that cream, it doesn’t wear well underneath sunscreen and makeup for me. Hence, I broke out this new moisturiser and the first time that I used it, I find that it works perfectly under makeup. It has a light gel-cream texture that sinks into my skin quickly leaving behind a soft slightly matte finish. Although it contains silicones, there wasn’t any flaking or “rolling” and my sunscreen and makeup just glides over it and sits nicely on top without looking patchy.
Originally I thought that this product wasn’t too different from the usual gel moisturisers that I’ve tried but boy was I wrong! I packed this product with me on a recent trip to Australia as it’s pretty much a fuss free product. As you might know, the humidity levels in Australia are way lower than Singapore and that’s when I realised just how good a hydrator this product is. True to its name, it really provides a moisture cushion against the drying weather conditions and does it so inconspicuously that I didn’t realise that my skin doesn’t feel dry at all throughout the trip. It wasn’t until my husband asked for my skincare products since his face feels extra dry and uncomfortable that I realised just how well it was working for me. His tight and flaky skin was transformed after the 2nd day of applying this cream. I also applied a liberal amount of this product during my flight and my skin remains soft and dewy even when I touched down.
I think this product is suitable for almost all skin types except maybe the super sensitive skins who might react to the some of the mild AHAs included in the ingredients list. This moisturiser would be particularly beneficial for those people with dehydrated combination oily skins who crave the deep hydration that a good moisturiser should provide but are also prone to clogged pores or acne at the same time.
Where can you find it?
I bought this product from Net-A-Porter Online while it was on sale. It normally retails at US$58.
