While repurchasing my Stratia Liquid Gold (full review here), I accidentally added their Velvet Cleansing Milk and the Soft Touch AHA into my cart as well. Ok, I might have added this product to my cart in a highly cognitive state. Anyway, I was intrigued by this product as it is formulated to have a pH of 5.0. It totally fits into my low pH cleanser life!

How does the Stratia Velvet Cleansing Milk fare?
Stratia’s Velvet Cleansing Milk is a moisturising, non-foaming cleanser that claims to gently removes dirt and grime without drying or damaging the skin’s natural barrier. Its rich emollient cream-lotion texture effectively removes dirt, grime, and other buildup while leaving the skin’s natural oils in place. You know, I realised that I must really trust Allie (the founder and maker of Stratia’s products) a lot. Even though this product reached me at a time when my skin was throwing a tantrum after I came back to Singapore from my holiday in Australia (it was literally dry, flaky and yet small pimples were popping up everywhere.. I blame the drastic change in weather for the state that my skin was in..), I trusted that the product will not irritate my skin further so I used it on my skin that very night.
The product is a light milky lotion that, in my opinion, is perfect as a second cleanse. I don’t recommend that you use it to remove your makeup as it’s quite a gentle cleanser. The lotion texture of this cleanser feels very soothing and reminds me greatly of my beloved Niks Pro Vitamin A cleansing lotion. It also rinses away cleanly with no residue whatsoever. I like using this cleanser in the mornings when I just need to gently clean off the remains of my night creams and oils. It leaves my skin very comfortable without the squeaky clean feeling that I usually get from foaming cleansers. I think that this cleanser would be fantastic for people with normal to dry skins who are averse to using foaming cleansers. For those of you who live in the northern hemisphere, I believe that your skin might also benefit from using this product as the weather turns colder and drier during this period.
However, I do realise that people with very oily skins might feel that they would like to use cleansers with stronger cleansing powers. In that case, a better alternative for them that I would recommend is the Corsx Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser (Full Review Here).
